Conor Ross Kayak School Instructor

A real nor-wester , this shredder of gnar grew up on west coast white water starting before age fourteen. Not hard to imagine with him being raised just a stone’s throw from his backyard “ditch” Hell’s Canyon.  Conor has river miles logged on. . . well you name the creek from the Grand Canyon to British Columbia. Conor has explored, he has descended, and now he is eager to dish out his knowledge with precision and pass on his love and of white water through Cascadia’s kayak school.  No need to feel intimidated though. His passion in life is to train first time kayakers, starting from the beginning on flat water, and working their way up to navigating their own backyard class III rivers in no time. He does it by combining more than just boating skills into his instruction but also what he calls “river skills”.  “The focus” he says “is on taking in all of the river's complexity and seeing it as a unique life force, a continuous movement of pulses and inputs. You won’t be able know the river by just learning to use a boat and a paddle, no, it’s the other way around”.
